Services FAQ
General
Where are you located?
LBJ is located in the Raleigh, NC area.
How do I send you jerseys?
Jerseys can be shipped via any major carrier — USPS, UPS, and FedEx all work. All jerseys are shipped to LBJ's PO Box, which keeps projects organized and maintains a clear chain of custody for both parties. USPS is the preferred carrier and typically delivers locally within one to two business days. Arrival will be confirmed once the package is received.

What is your contact response time?
Please allow 2–3 business days for a response. LBJ's communication schedule may vary depending on workload.
What payment methods do you accept?
PayPal, Venmo, and Visa/MC via Stripe.
I'm international — how do fees work?
The buyer is responsible for all import, customs, and brokerage fees. LBJ will not be held responsible for any local taxes or duties assessed upon delivery.
Shipping policies
Customers are responsible for all shipping to and from LBJ unless otherwise arranged. LBJ is not liable for lost or damaged packages once they've been handed off to a carrier — insured shipping with tracking is strongly recommended. Return shipping for reworks or cancellations is the customer's responsibility unless otherwise agreed.
Cancellations & refunds
If a customer cancels before sending their jersey or before work begins, no charge is applied. Once work has started, cancellation is not possible. Refunds are only issued in line with the policy described in the customization agreement.
Communication expectations
LBJ strives to maintain clear and professional communication. To protect work quality and maintain a sustainable schedule, professional communication is expected from customers in return. Excessive or rapid-fire messages may go unanswered until the next available work window. Hostile or abusive communication may result in cancellation of the project.
Liability
LBJ is not responsible for pre-existing defects in customer-supplied jerseys or kits. Minor imperfections inherent to hand stitching and manual work are a normal part of the process. Customers provide specifications and materials at their own risk.
Customization
Should I provide a kit, or do you?
In most cases, it's best to let LBJ source the kit. Having the right materials on hand makes it easier to address any issues quickly and ensures that custom nameplates match the jersey accurately.
Customer-supplied kits are accepted, but will be used as-is. LBJ cannot guarantee accuracy or make adjustments to third-party materials.
Do you make every part of the customization yourself?
Yes. All work is produced in-house. For materials not already in stock, LBJ sources them through a network of suppliers — keep in mind that sourced materials may vary slightly between vendors in pattern and construction.
Can you fix or adjust kits I provide?
No. Customer-supplied kits are accepted and used exactly as received. LBJ does not review, grade, or modify third-party kits. Any issues with the kit itself remain the customer's responsibility.
How do proofs and approvals work?
LBJ sends photos or proofs before stitching when appropriate, and upon request. Approval of a proof constitutes acceptance of the design, spacing, and font selection. Once approved, the artwork is locked — no further changes will be made without additional cost.
Minor year-to-year font and construction variations between manufacturers are normal and may not be perfectly matchable.
What are your turnaround times?
Turnaround times vary based on queue position, order complexity, and material availability. Any estimated timelines are approximate and not guaranteed. Rush service is available for $85 per jersey, subject to current capacity — rush moves an order to the front of the queue but does not guarantee a specific completion date.
What if I want very specific on-ice or historical accuracy?
LBJ strives for high-quality, authentic results, but cannot guarantee perfect 1:1 replication of manufacturer specs, on-ice construction, or proprietary factory methods. All work is limited to LBJ's existing font and materials library. Custom font recreation requests will not be accepted.
How does the waitlist work?
All work is scheduled through a waitlist. Customers must receive an invitation email ("It's your turn!") before sending their jersey. Once invited, there is a five-business-day window to confirm the spot and ship.
This five-business-day window applies to all follow-up communication throughout the project. If a customer goes silent, delays shipping, or stops responding, LBJ may move on to the next customer. Returning after a long delay may require rejoining the waitlist — spots cannot be held indefinitely.
Stripping & Cleaning
What do you do with the old kits?
Old kits are generally discarded after removal. If any lettering or patches are salvageable, they will be returned with the jersey.
How do you handle jerseys with authentication tagging?
Authentication tags are removed as part of the stripping process to ensure a clean ownership history. For Meigray or other official tags, the issuing organization will be notified that the jersey has been altered from its original state.
What chemicals do you use?
LBJ uses a range of solvents depending on the job, from standard removers to industrial-strength chemicals. Specific formulations are not disclosed for safety reasons. All chemicals are applied carefully to minimize any risk to the jersey.
Do you wash the jerseys?
Yes. After chemical treatment, jerseys are washed to remove any residue and hung to dry — they are never put in a dryer. A basic wash is included with all work. If more intensive cleaning is needed, the customer will be notified before work begins.
